Through a well-crafted ecosystem of graphical applications and command-line utilities, Rhino Linux effortlessly caters to the diverse needs of everyday computing tasks. Let's delve into some of the standout features that make Rhino Linux a compelling choice.

Pacstall: A Gateway to the Latest Software

One of the defining features of Rhino Linux is its reliance on the Pacstall package manager. Unlike traditional package managers, Pacstall provides users with the most up-to-date software offerings, bridging the gap between available software in Ubuntu repositories and cutting-edge applications. This means that Rhino Linux users can access software that might not be readily available in other distributions, ensuring they have access to the latest tools and technologies.

In the world of Linux distributions, where choices abound, Rhino Linux stands out as a remarkable option that redefines the Ubuntu experience. With a unique combination of a rolling release distribution built upon a solid foundation of the XFCE Desktop Environment, Rhino Linux introduces an innovative approach to the Linux desktop. At the core of its identity lies the powerful Pacstall package manager, delivering essential software packages, including the Linux kernel, Firefox, Rhino Linux specific applications, and a distinctive theming experience.

  1. Sane Defaults and XFCE Stability

Rhino Linux recognizes the value of simplicity and a stable foundation. By opting for the XFCE Desktop Environment, the distribution ensures a rock-solid base that's familiar to users who appreciate a traditional desktop experience. The custom XFCE configuration further enhances the usability of the desktop, offering a seamless and efficient environment where users can instantly engage with their tasks without any unnecessary hurdles.

  1. Unicorn: The Unique Desktop Experience

Central to Rhino Linux's identity is its in-house desktop environment, Unicorn. This custom-built XFCE-based desktop experience strikes a balance between the classic and modern aspects of desktop computing. Fast and elegant, Unicorn encapsulates the essence of Rhino Linux by providing users with a visually appealing and efficient workspace that encourages productivity and creativity.

  1. Tailored for Developers

Rhino Linux doesn't just cater to the average user; it also offers a haven for developers. The distribution's extensive and always up-to-date software repositories make it a treasure trove for developers seeking the latest libraries and tools. Rhino Linux's user repositories, particularly the Pacstall system, are invaluable for accessing development libraries crucial for various projects. With Codium (an open-source version of Visual Studio Code) preinstalled, developers can dive straight into coding without any setup hassle, letting them focus on what they do best.
